FBM KLCI - likely to stay in consolidation
Stocks on Bursa Malaysia closed last week on a firm note last Friday, bolstered by gains in selected heavyweights. Market sentiment stayed positive in relation to the dovish remarks on Thursday by US Federal Reserve incoming chairperson, Janet Yellen, on the United States economy. The FBMKLCI ended last Friday 5.67 points or 0.32% higher at 1,789.87, after hovering between 1,784.20 and 1,790.78 throughout the day. However, on a weekly basis, the benchmark index lost 14.61 point, or 0.81 percent. Advancers overwhelmed decliners by 424 to 364 with 333 counters unchanged. Total turnover stood at 1.49 billion shares worth RM1.58 billion against 1.541 billion shares worth RM1.789 billion on Thursday. Weekly turnover stood at 9.872 billion shares valued at RM9.516 billion, compared with 7.721 billion units worth RM7.353bil changed hands during the four-day holiday-shortened previous week. ...Read more>>
