Stocks on Bursa Malaysia closed broadly higher last Friday with the benchmark FBMKLCI closing at a fresh record closing high of 1,861.06 after touching an all-time intraday high of 1,862.63 on continued year-end window-dressing activity. The FBMKLCI rose 16.96 points or 0.92% after fluctuating between 1,843.90 and 1,862.63 throughout the day. On a weekly basis, the benchmark index rose 23.03 points or 1.25% from 1,838.03. Market breadth was positive with 496 gainers against 261 losers while 335 were unchanged. Volume rose to 1.18 billion shares worth RM1.28 billion from 905.01 million shares worth RM818.25 million on Thursday. Weekly total turnover fell to 3.93 billion shares worth RM3.78 billion from previous week’s 5.36 billion shares worth RM7.6 billion.
