Stocks on Bursa Malaysia ended lower yesterday despite an upbeat overnight Wall Street, overall sentiment in Asia was cautious amid concerns over falling oil prices and uncertainty on the monetary easing plan in Europe. The benchmark FBMKLCI closed 7.31 points or 0.40% easier at 1,831.98, on continuous profit-taking activity in heavyweight stocks. Losers outpaced gainers by 436 to 364, with 328 counters unchanged. Total volume expanded to 2.87 billion shares worth RM2.52 billion from 2.26 billion shares worth RM2.02 billion yesterday.
