Stocks on Bursa Malaysia closed broadly lower yesterday on continued selling pressure tracking the weaker Asian equity markets, as investors remained cautious over the uncertainties of the global economy despite the higher-than expected China import and export data released earlier yesterday. The benchmark FBMKLCI ended sharply lower to close at its intra-day low of 1,797.2 points, down 11.68 points or 0.65%, after rising to a high of 1,808.95 during the day. Market breadth was negative as decliners trounced advancers by 757 to 155 while 237 counters were unchanged. A total of 1.74 billion shares worth RM1.8 billion were transacted compared with 2.22 billion shares worth RM2.34 billion on Friday. Read more >>
