Stocks on Bursa Malaysia retreated to close lower in volatile trade in tandem with regional markets. Losses in regional indices were due to Wall Street's overnight drop, and most Asian equities market turned cautious as sentiment was dragged down in anticipation of the second-quarter corporate earnings season. At close, the FBM KLCI stood at 1,808.42, down 1.58 points or 0.09% from Wednesday's close. The barometer index moved between 1,808.04 and 1,811.57 throughout the day. Losers thumped gainers by 445 to 312, with 323 counters unchanged.
