Stocks on Bursa Malaysia extended their gains to six straight
trading days, closing higher yesterday supported by strong buying interest in
line with other Asian markets as investors continued to increase their
positions in riskier assets including cash markets following the
better-than-expected US manufacturing data. The local bourse was lifted by
gains especially in telecommunication counters after analysts viewed positively
the one-off rebate of RM200 for the purchase of one 3G Smartphone for youth as
announced in Budget 2013 last Friday. The FBM KLCI rose 7.72 points or 0.47% to
close at 1,651.03, after hovering between 1,645.67 and 1,651.08 levels
throughout the day. Gainers led losers by 385 to 300 while 345 counters were
unchanged. Turnover rose to 812.823 million shares worth RM1.253 billion from
