FBM KLCI - marginally lower

Stocks on Bursa Malaysia ended on a mixed note yesterday on mild selling pressure despite gains on regional markets except Japan’s Nikkei. The FBM KLCI, which opened at 1,625.33, fell by 0.04 point to close at 1,624.14 after hovering between 1,623.92 and 1,627.07 throughout the day. FBM KLCI - lower on mild profit-taking

Stocks on Bursa Malaysia finished in the red territory yesterday on profit-taking activities amid mixed trading sentiment in regional stock markets. The bears were making a comeback in Asia yesterday following Wall Street’s overnight slump, where major US equity indices plunged between 1.4% and 1.8% at the closing bell as sentiment was hit by concerns over a possible hung Parliament in Italy and the deteriorating Eurozone’s debt woes. FBM KLCI - likely to stay range-bound


Stocks on Bursa Malaysia ended broadly higher last Friday as strong buying of heavyweights like Maybank, IOI Corporation and Petronas Dagangan in late evening prompted the FBM KLCI to close at the day’s high of 1,622.08, making a gain of 8.03 points or +0.50%. On a weekly basis, the FBM KLCI loss 5.85 points or -0.4% from previous Friday's closing of 1,627.93. Gainers thumped losers by 388 to 259 with 318 counters unchanged. FBM KLCI - continue slipping lower

Stocks on Bursa Malaysia continued their losses yesterday for the third consecutive day ahead of the country’s economic growth announcement for 2012. Most of the investors were reluctant to take a heavy position especially with the absence of fresh leads. The economic data, together with a string of corporate results which are to be released, will likely give some impetus to the local bourse. FBM KLCI - heading south

The FBM KLCI declined 5.86 points or 0.36% to 1,615.07, dragged down by losses mostly seen in Genting, which lost 14 sen to RM9.64 and contributed 0.972 of a point to the drop in the benchmark index.
