Stocks on Bursa Malaysia closed in the red yesterday in line with other regional bourses as most investors sold off their holdings following news that United States was scaling back its bond-buying programme. Across the region, other bourses also remained in the negative territory with Hong Kong's Hang Seng plummeted 604.02 points or 2.88% to 20,382.87, Singapore's STI was 79.55 points or 2.48% lower at 3,134.24 and Japan's Nikkei 225 dropped 230.64 points or 1.74% to 13,014.58. The FBM KLCI ended 10.54 points or 0.59% lower at 1,762.34, after hovering between 1,758.86 and 1,766.73 throughout the day. Decliners led advancers 667 to 172 while 257 counters were unchanged.
