Stocks on Bursa Malaysia closed higher yesterday, propped up by interest in selected financial counters amid firmer regional markets. The local market took a cue from the bullish regional markets following positive sentiment from the US after the country revised downwards its gross domestic projection to 1.8 per cent from 2.4 per cent earlier. The news eased investors' concerns over the US Federal Reserve ending the economic stimulus programme in the near term. The FBM KLCI rose 10.81 points or 0.62% to close at 1,751.57 after moving between 1,742.7 and 1,753.76 throughout the trading session. Gainers outpaced losers by 503 to 253, with 289 counters unchanged.
