Stocks on Bursa Malaysia closed higher yesterday in line with regional bourses, reversing last week's downtrend, with buying mostly seen in selected heavyweights. A similar upward trend swept the region which saw Japan's Nikkei 225 gaining 346.60 points to 13,033.12, Hong Kong's Hang Seng advancing 256.76 points to 21,225.90 and Singapore's Straits Times rising 23.11 points to 3,184.54. The FBM KLCI was 9.98 points or 0.57% better at 1,772.17, after hovering between 1,758.8 and 1,773.65 throughout the day. Gainers led losers by 405 to 334 with 304 counters unchanged.
