Stocks on Bursa Malaysia closed lower yesterday as losses in most of the heavyweight stocks dragged down share prices, with the FBMKLCI losing 8.54 points or 0.46% to close at an intra-day low of 1,860.54 points after reaching as high as 1,869.38 points during the day. Bursa Malaysia's weaker performance was in line with most Southeast Asian markets, as most Asian stocks fell yesterday as investors weighed corporate earnings amid concerns Russia will be subject to new sanctions as tensions over Ukraine intensify. Losers led gainers by 691 to 170 while 275 counters were unchanged. Turnover was higher at 1.54 billion shares worth RM1.39 billion, from 1.15 billion shares worth RM1.51 billion on Friday.
