FBM KLCI - likely to further consolidate

Stocks on Bursa Malaysia closed broadly lower last Friday in line with most regional markets as markets around the world reacted negatively to US President Barack Obama’s authorisation of airstrikes in Iraq. The FBMKLCI had the steepest fall to date this year where the benchmark index fell by 27.45 points or 1.47% to 1,839.87 after moving between 1,837.28 and 1,864.68 throughout the day. On a weekly basis, the FBMKLCI fell 23.47 points from previous Friday’s 1,863.34. Decliners thumped advancers by 866 to 144, with 224 counters unchanged. Total volume rose to 3.42 billion units valued at RM2.564 from 3.19 billion units valued at RM2.327 billion on Thursday. Weekly turnover rose to 15.28 billion shares valued at RM11.39 billion from 6.71 billion shares valued at RM6.77 billion for the previous holiday-shortened three-day trading week. Read more >>
