Stocks on Bursa Malaysia closed higher yesterday as stronger regional stock markets on the back of favorable US jobs data which points to solid growth in the world’s largest economy helped drive the higher performance of Bursa Malaysia. Buying in small caps and Ace market also helped lift the local bourse to close higher and recoup some losses from last week. At close, the benchmark FBMKLCI gained 3.74 points or 0.3% to close at 1,827.93, after hovering between 1,824.05 and 1,831.82 throughout the day. Market breadth was negative with losers outpaced gainers by 482 to 348, while 299 counters were unchanged. Total volume increased to 2.66 billion shares worth RM1.97 billion from 2.52 billion shares worth RM1.95 billion on Friday. Read more >>
