Stocks on Bursa Malaysia closed lower in a quiet market on Wednesday on lack of buying interest amid cautious trading on the Asian stock markets as investors remained on the sidelines. The local bourse was dampened by losses in selected blue-chips as investors were reluctant to take heavy positions due to the Awal Muharram public holiday yesterday. The FBM KLCI fell 5.91 points to 1,631.68, after hovering between 1,629.24 and 1,638.84. Losers led gainers by 357 to 309, while 324 counters were unchanged.
