FBM KLCI - poised to move higher

Stocks on Bursa Malaysia ended last Friday higher in response to Wall Street’s favourable overnight performance with external equities continued to be bullish as key barometers on Wall Street overnight posted further gains, driven by signs that the US economic recovery was picking up pace. Local market interests were focused on selected heavyweights and lower-liners. The FBM KLCI, which opened at 1650.69, rose 3.03 points or 0.18% to end at 1,653.960, after hovering between 1,649.91 and 1,653.96 throughout the day. On a weekly basis, the benchmark index rose 16.52 points from previous Friday's 1,637.44. Advancers led decliners by 426 to 264, with 298 counters unchanged. Total volume eased to 786.53 million shares valued at RM 1.67 billion from 842.01 million shares valued at RM1.42 billion on Thursday, while weekly turnover stood at 4.530 billion units worth RM8.327bil, compared with previous week's 4.435 billion shares valued at RM7.76 billion. ...Read more>>
