FBM KLCI - lower on profit-taking

Stocks on Bursa Malaysia closed lower yesterday as investors stayed on the sidelines on lack of fresh leads to spur the local bourse, and the lack of progress in talks aimed at averting the US fiscal cliff has also discouraged investors from taking any major positions. The benchmark FBM KLCI fell 3.4 points or 0.21% to close at 1,648.58. The barometer index had moved within a narrow range of between 1,643.78 and 1,648.62 throughout the day. Losers led gainers by 399 to 259, while 291 counters were unchanged.
