Stocks on Bursa Malaysia closed significantly higher yesterday boosted by persistent buying of blue-chips and heavyweight counters as continued bullish sentiment among investors helped the local bourse remain in the positive territory. The FBM KLCI rose 10.44 points or 0.61% to end at 1,710.97, a fresh record high closing, after fluctuating between 1,701.85 and 1,712.14 throughout the day, with Tenaga Nasional Bhd contributing the biggest rise of 3.107 points. Gainers thumped losers by 530 to 228, with 293 counters unchanged.
