Stocks on Bursa Malaysia ended broadly firmer yesterday backed by last-minute support for blue-chips. Three counters that contributed a total of 2.324 points to the key index were British American Tobacco, which rose RM1.44 to RM63.48, CIMB perked seven sen to RM7.74 and Petronas Chemicals which gained four sen to RM6.39. The FBM KLCI ended 2.28 points or 0.14% higher at 1,690.27, after fluctuating between 1,685.61 and 1,690.45 throughout the day. Advancers beat decliners by 435 to 314, with 283 counters unchanged.
